I love putting on a show! Especially for my cool crazy beloved brother-in-law Dan Caven, who has been liberating paint and illuminating gas for a long time now. His unique sculptures are the inaugural exhibit of the Bellevue Club’s newest gathering space, The Den (another realized dream of “the Bellevue Muse,” who has been calling me for years)! Hidden deep in the heart of this grand historic building is a new, funky, colorful gathering space that pulses with an artistic vibe.
Dan’s art beckons forgotten artifacts into forgotten spaces, creating something engaging and poetic that speaks back to more traditional works at the Bellevue Club.
Reception May 13, 2017 2-4pm
Dan, who hosts Collage & Wine Workshops at Artworks Downtown in San Rafael, will bring collage supplies for a fun crafting session in Cafe Belle next door to The Den.
No experience or supplies needed.

The Bellevue Club, one of Oakland’s hidden treasures, is nestled in a park on the shores of Lake Merritt. The Clubhouse is a grand five-story French chateau, combining elegance with the welcoming intimacy of a large gracious home. This is what our founders envisioned in 1929, to have a home-away-from-home to dine, entertain, play bridge, work out, hear live music, meet friends and relax. Social media is not enough! We welcome new members who would like to call this club their own.
