What does the sweet life have to do with the sweet spot? How many sweet spots make up the sweet life? Is the sweet life one big sweet spot or would that get boring? Do sticky spots make the sweet life less sweet? Why is it that the sweet life is also savory?
On August 9th 2017, come savor the sweetness of life with all of your senses at Kristen Caven’s first “Creative Convivium,” the quarterly arts luncheon feature of her new program, The Flourishing Artist.
The theme is La Dolce Vita, as the creative historical costume community welcomes home its ex-pat sweetheart, lyric soprano Alexandra Alise. Alexandra will be performing with her longtime jazz chanteuse pianist friend and partner in Deco fantasy and fabulousness, the equally iconic Sara Klotz de Aguilar. This delicious duo of dazzlingly talented divas will mix up a froth of early jazz standards with Italian arias and folk songs, while Kristen sweet-talks the audience about the philosophy of happiness.
Henry Vortriede, the Bellevue Club’s private chef, will serve up some Italian sweets and savories in honor of the occasion. Daniel Finnamore will play classical piano before Lunch is served at 12pm, and the program begins at 1pm. Call 510-451-1000 to make no-host lunch or cocktail/dessert reservations. Bring a donation for the artists (suggested $15 per person) and cash to purchase Sara’s CDs, or donate via Paypal to info@generousmuse.org.
